Chic like Ciara
Perfect for the sun-kissed bride
If you were following the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, you would have found it hard to miss Ciara on the red carpet. The Hollywood R&B/Pop singer was totally rocking it with her signature radiant bronze makeup. What we loved about the look is its versatility. No matter her hair do and outfit of the day, she is always a visage of understated elegance and glowing femininity.
Want this look for your D-Day look? Celebrity makeup artist, Yolanda Frederick-Thompson tells us how she achieved this look for Ciara:
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-4, $60
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder, $69
A thin layer of Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation in Chai was applied to even out her complexion after prepping and priming the face. To highlight the t-zone and to keep Ciara’s skin looking flawless, I used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-4. To further perfect the foundation, I applied Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Tuxedo, $48
Laura Mercier Extreme Neutrals Eye Shadow Palette, $90
After applying a creamy beige cream base eye shadow, I added more depth and intensify the colour by contouring the outer corners of the lip, crease and entire lash line with Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Tuxedo. I then continued by layering the eyelids by using the pewter-toned eye shadow Rock from Laura Mercier Extreme Neutrals Eye Shadow Palette.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Moonlight, $48
Thereafter, I highlighted Ciara’s brow bone with a warm vanilla shadow. Dust, also from Laura Mercier Extreme Neutrals Eye Shadow Palette. For that extra sparkle, I dotted the inside corners of her eyes with Laura Mercier Caviar Stick eye Colour in Moonlight.
Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Chestnut, $35
Laura Mercier Velour Lover’s Lip Colour in Embrace, $42
Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Brigitte, $42
To create a gorgeous nude lip colour, I contoured and filled in the lips with Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Chestnut and Laura Mercier Velour Lover’s Lip Colour in Embrace. Finish the beautiful lip look by highlighting the centre of her lips with Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Brigitte.
