Regardless of the size of your wedding, the process of planning one may get overwhelming, especially when both you and your partner have to specially make time to ensure that every aspect of the wedding is taken care of. Unless either of you are a wedding planner, chances are that some details are going to go unnoticed and boy, do we want to avoid that situation.
Although some bridal shops in Singapore do offer wedding planning services, we do understand the desire to plan your big day on your own. On that note, we’ve listed some small details that to-be-weds couple may overlook and if happen to find one on the list, you know what to do.
Legibility of table cards
A necessity for any wedding banquet, the primary purpose for table numbers is to help guests find their allocated seats at the wedding reception. So when choosing or designing the table numbers, try to ensure that they are noticeable and legible. You don’t have to exactly have them printed out in the font size of 72, but as long as they catch the attention of your guests, they’re good enough. Do also consider matching the design of your table numbers and the wedding theme, such that they appear as an extension, instead of an awkward addition to your wedding.
Prepare detailed wedding invitations
There’s a lot more to designing your wedding invitation than just mailing them out. A well-informed guest makes a joyful guest – so do remember to clue your guests in on the details of your wedding through the invitation card. Besides the date, time and venue of the banquet, do also include the date when guests should indicate their RSVPs by. It’ll be good to provide your guests with a longer time frame to state their replies (say a minimum of 3 weeks) – remember, the more precise the headcount, the better it is when it comes to deciding on the menu.
Be ready for extra seating
In case of emergency plus one situations, always have some extra seats at the ready. Be it a last-minute addition of a family member or if your buddy decides to bring a date, you’ll never be caught off guard and will know what to do.
Accommodate guests with food allergies or special diets
Although it is not quite possible to cater to all dietary requirements (think gluten-free, vegans etc.), do bear in mind the food allergies of your guests. With this information, you’ll be at a better position to inform your caterer about the specific requirements and have them prepare the meal accordingly.
These small details can make or break the day, so be sure to not overlook these details when planning your wedding!
