Make a Grand Wedding Entrance With These 5 Ideas
2018-11-03
As with most weddings, it is during the wedding reception when couples will make their grand entrance to the venue. However, instead of a walk down the aisle, we say to give your guests an unforgettable experience with a unique entrance. From light shows to flash mobs, here are five wedding entrances to consider.
Hand Tunnel

Involve your guests in your wedding entrance! Request for your emcee to make an announcement requesting for guests to line the aisle and form a hand tunnel. Once your spouse and you have passed them, encourage them to form a dancing line after you. Start off with your bridal party for a higher chance of participation from other guests.
Flash Mob

Organise a flash mob with your bridal party and several other guests. With a flash mob, there are several ways you can choose to enter the room. After the dance, the dancers can make their way to line the aisle and set the scene for your entrance. Or, once the emcee announces your entrance, the couple can enter the room as per usual but a flash mob will commence on cue. This may surprise your guests who were expecting an ordinary entrance.
Lastly, you may also choose to disguise the flashmob as the usual entertainment starting off with only a single couple. Throughout the song, the other dancers—including your spouse and you—will make their way to the dancefloor, increasing the size of the group. However, be sure that your spouse and you are discreet about it. End the dance with the rest of the dancers slowly easing out until it’s only your spouse and you on the dance floor and reveal your presence.
Silhouette Dance

Announce your presence with your first dance – silhouette style. Turn off all the lights and position yourselves behind a screen or white curtain to create your silhouette for your guests to see. This is both a romantic and unique way to start off your celebration.
Light Show

If dancing is not your style, consider livening up the wedding with a light show. In addition to working with the venue, you may choose to engage an external company that specialises in light play for a more elaborate show.
Switcheroo

Reserved for adventurous couples only, this entrance style is unbelievably simple yet impressive. It requires the bride and groom to swap their outfits for the grand entrance. You may also choose to rope in your bridal party to make for a more entertaining and exciting time. With the switcheroo, even a simple walk-in will be memorable as the focus will be on your outfits.
