You may know NUSS as a graduate club - perhaps through your parents’ membership, or from attending a Chinese New Year dinner at Kent Ridge Guild House.

What many may not realise is that NUSS also welcomes the public to host wedding banquets across all three of its Guild Houses. Each venue offers a distinct setting and capacity, complemented by Chinese, Halal, and International menus prepared by the same experienced in-house culinary team. The result is a rare balance of versatility and consistency, which are qualities that have earned NUSS our Editor’s Choice Award for Preferred Wedding Banquet this year.

Three Distinct Venues, From Intimate to Grand

Kent Ridge Guild House is their flagship venue and a preferred choice for Singapore weddings. It sits within the NUS campus and is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a naturally picturesque setting for outdoor photography without the need for artificial backdrops. The Della & Seng Gee Guild Hall also features a modernised AV system and can accommodate up to 200 guests. The hall can also be partitioned into two separate chambers, creating a perfectly intimate setting for smaller celebrations of around 100 guests. 

What truly stands out at Kent Ridge Guild House is its menu flexibility. Chinese, International and Halal options are all available in-house, with no external caterer required, making it much easier for couples with multi-racial guest lists.

Mandalay Guild House sits at the opposite end of the spectrum. This colonial-era black-and-white bungalow in the Novena district accommodates up to 40 guests, making it a premier choice for ROM ceremonies or intimate wedding lunches. 

For couples seeking character over a generic function room, Mandalay is hard to beat. Its heritage architecture and shaded garden surrounds create a soulful, naturally beautiful setting that larger venues often try to replicate through elaborate décor. With curated Chinese and fusion set menus, coupled with its intimate scale, every celebration receives the banquet team’s full attention and personalised care. 

Then there’s Suntec City Guild House, which accommodates up to 120 guests with Chinese and International set menus. Located within Suntec City Mall, it offers seamless convenience with direct MRT access and sheltered parking. Its modern function rooms and streamlined setup are perfect for couples who prioritise accessibility and a stress-free experience for their guests.

Why Club Venues Make Sense

When planning a wedding, many Singaporean couples naturally begin by comparing hotel banquet venues. However, club venues such as NUSS operate on a different model, offering several distinct advantages.

For one, scale. While hotels may host multiple weddings on the same evening, NUSS typically manages fewer events at a time, allowing the banquet team to provide more focused coordination and attentive service.

Another advantage is the kitchen. NUSS operates its own restaurants across its Guild Houses, including The Scholar Chinese Restaurant at Kent Ridge, which is well regarded for its dim sum offerings.
