One of the greatest decisions a bride-to-be has to make is probably the choice of her Singapore wedding venue. One aspect to consider is whether to hold it indoors, or outdoors. There are advantages and disadvantages to both types of venues, so we take a look at indoor wedding venues strictly in our island’s sunny context and help you break down the perks of having an indoor wedding.

You already knew we were going to tackle this first! On a tropical island like ours, the sun is (almost) always shining, which makes for amazing photos and gorgeous warm light that only makes your day more magical and cheery. The lush greenery also sets a great backdrop that surrounds everyone as you walk down the aisle. However, perhaps it could be just a tad too sunny at times. Let’s face it – on a sunny island, the weather is always temperamental, and always humid. Perspiring non-stop in your heavy wedding dress with melting makeup is definitely the stuff bridal nightmares are made off. Unless you can predict the weather in advance – and we mean way in advance – an air-conditioned indoor wedding is the best way to go to provide comfort for not just you, but also your guests!

Ceremony length

This ties in well with the previous point about weather. If your guests are comfortably seated and you are cool and happy standing in a sheltered building, you won’t have to worry about the length of your ceremony, the comfort of your guests, or whether it may rain anytime! With so many things to think about on your big day, you’ll want to minimise your worries as much as possible. Indoor weddings give you an ease of mind to focus on your ceremony and your groom, and not have to worry about speeding things up. 

Decorations

Without the wind that comes with having an outdoor wedding, you can include as many candles you want! Setting up any light or electrical installations will be a lot easier indoors with pre-existing sockets too, and you can also use the walls and ceilings to drape, hang or pin up décor and elegant adornment that you always wanted to have at your wedding.
