A wedding in the royal family is always a reason for the general public to celebrate. After all, who doesn’t want to join in on the fun and blissfulness of the royal couple? Eight years after meeting at the Swiss ski resort Verbier, Princess Eugenie of York is getting married on Friday, 12th of October to Jack Brooksbank.

Princess Eugenie is the younger daughter of Sarah Duchess of York and Prince Andrew, Duke of York (Queen Elizabeth’s second son). The granddaughter of the Queen and ninth in line to the throne, she is not required to fulfil royal duties and is currently an associate director for the art gallery Hauser & Wirth in London.

Jack Brooksbank comes from the line of Brooksbank baronets, and used to manage London nightclub Mahiki. He is currently the ambassador for George Clooney and Rande Gerber’s tequila brand Casamigos.

After seven years of dating, the couple has announced their engagement just earlier this year. It was said that Brooksbank was a friend of Prince Harry’s and the couple met on Princess Eugenie’s skiing holiday in 2010.

The couple will be exchanging vows at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, a popular wedding venue among royals. In fact, the castle had recently played host to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The chapel has a seating capacity of 800, a mere fraction of Westminster Abbey or St Paul’s Cathedral, also royal favourites.

Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie’s older sister, is the obvious choice as confirmed by the pair in an interview with British Vogue. Additionally, Express claims that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be involved as flower girls and page boys together with Theodora Rose Williams, Maud Windsor, Ines de Givenchy and Louis de Givenchy.

Brooksbank proposed with a gorgeous padparadscha sapphire ring while on holiday in Nicaragua earlier this year. The extremely rare pinkish-orange oval sapphire is set on a gold band surrounded by diamonds, reminiscent of the Duchess of York’s ruby engagement ring.

Guest List

The official guest list has not been confirmed yet, but given Princess Eugenie’s wide social circle, it will not be surprising to see many familiar faces at the ceremony. Other than members of the royal family, likely attendees include Amal and George Clooney, Victoria and David Beckham, Kate Moss, as well as Robbie Williams and Ayda Field.

In addition, the engaged pair is also inviting 1,200 lucky members of the public to view the arrival of guests and join in on a live broadcast of the ceremony.

While we can’t catch the royal wedding on our sunny island, we can’t wait to catch a glimpse of the Princess’ wedding gown.
