Three venues, three very different weddings

The John Jacob Ballroom is the grand one. It seats up to 380 guests across 709 square metres and it is pillarless, so no table ends up tucked behind a column watching your march-in on a side screen.

The ballroom has been newly renovated, and it now features two LED walls measuring 9.6m by 5.29m each. Your montage plays at proper scale on a canvas that size, and the walls can just as easily your monogram design or a live feed of the solemnisation. Two skylights sit above the room and flood it with natural daylight, so an afternoon lunch here feels nothing like the usual windowless hotel ballroom. Rates start from $258.80 per person.

Caroline's Mansion is a cosy alternative. It holds up to 140 guests and sits adjacent to the main hotel building, which makes it a separate venue rather than a partitioned function room. The space is residential, private and exclusive, and it was made for intimate weddings. The whole mansion can be yours for the day. Rates start from $288.80 per person.

For a smaller guestlist, the Level 1 Event Spaces include five newly renovated function rooms suited to weddings of 60 to 80 persons. A solemnisation lunch can be held  comfortably here, and so can a second celebration for friends and colleagues after the main banquet. Rates start from $198.80 per person.

All three venues serve curated Asian and Western menus, and these menus can be customised.

This is the person holding your bouquet through the tea ceremony, keeping an eye on whether the yum seng is running late, and producing safety pins in any bridal dress emergency. 

They provide anticipatory service and tailored assistance at every turn, from your first gown change to the last table you visit.

Your photographer may just ask about this. The hotel’s Grand Staircase or the staircase in Caroline’s Mansion are the obvious answers and it deserves the mention.
