Opt for Cooling Furniture

While wooden chairs may add to the whimsical element of outdoor weddings, they may not be the most comfortable choice. Bamboo chairs, on the other hand, are cooling and comfortable alternatives. At the same time, consider stationing fans at the reception area, to provide your guests (and you) with some heat-relief.

State the Dress Code 

As outdoor weddings are relatively more casual affairs, be sure to let your guests in on the dress code, to prevent over-dressing (and over-heating!). Encourage breathable attire such as linen shirts or summer dresses, to maximise the comfort of your guests.

Heat-Relief Wedding Favours

Instead of the conventional gifts, consider heat-relief items such as mini fans instead! Not only will they come in handy during the outdoor ceremony, but they will serve as great memorabilia from your wedding.

Whether it’s refreshing coolers or ice cold water, nothing beats the heat like a cool drink does. Instead of a dessert table, consider a drink station alternative where your guests are able to concoct their own cocktails, mocktails or bubble tea even!

Create A ‘Beat the Heat’ Kit

Other than an emergency kit, create one that will help you cope with the heat.  Pack in tissues, oil blotters, deodorants, perfumes and other necessities to keep you looking refreshed.

Rethink Your Wedding Look

Wearing an overly-extravagant gown or opting for an elaborate hairdo might not be the best choice for outdoor weddings. Instead, opt for updos and gowns made with lighter fabrics to feel cooler. This way you will also look and feel more comfortable on your big day.

You can also survive the heat by opting to hold the wedding reception indoors and the ceremony outdoors. This way, your guests and you will be able to enjoy the best of both worlds. This is also beneficial as then your food and cake will not be prone to the elements. Therefore, opt for a wedding venue that has both indoor and facilities!
